1923 German Leica 0 series Sold For a World Record £1.15m
A picture is usually worth a thousand words – but they are worth a lot more if taken by the world’s most expensive camera – worth more than a staggering £1MILLION.
The extremely rare model, a Leica 0-series was described as in ‘excellent and fully working condition’ by Vienna’s WestLicht gallery, which organised organised its sale at auction.
It was bought for a world record £1.15m by a private collector from Asia who wanted to remain anonymous, the gallery said.
The camera was one of about 25 prototypes made in 1923, two years before the German brand went into commercial production.
