Overall, the Casio TRYX is a bold attempt to provide something a bit different. While we applaud this, we do have concerns with the price and the digital zoom. At £250 the TRYX has to compete against some fairly high-spec compacts with superior zoom lenses and better overall image quality. Perhaps if the TRYX was closer to £150 than £250 Casio might have a winner on its hands. As it stands we’re not so sure.

Casio ready to announced the Exilim EX-H20G with Hybrid GPS after 8 months exhibiting a prototype in CES 2010. The technology embarks in new area where it can enables the camera to track the camera when indoors or away from the GPS satellite signals. This technology is based on it uses three-axis

accelerometers and its three-way direction sensor to determine the location since it last received a signal. The H20G is built around the company’s EX-H15 inheriting its 14.1MP sensor, 10x (24-240mm) zoom lens and 3.0″ LCD . It comes with complete set of recording, where it can also record 720p HD videos with H.264 compression, and features a faster Exilim Engine HS engine. New ways of tagging can be up to geotagging, which in photos might be a whole new thing to remember and share where particular pictures have been taken, but it suffers from one big problem: GPS’s don’t work well everywhere, like in big urban canyons, and particularly inside buildings—you know, where lots of people hang out with friends and take pictures. Casio is always in front in looking to solve that problem in the Exilim EX-H20G camera. Traditional camera cannot do all the tagging and this was fun to have such technology that brighs infomation along. It’ll hit shops this November for $349.99 (or €300 in Europe).

TOKYO, July 27, 2010 – Casio Computer Co., Ltd., today announced the release of the new EXILIM® Card EX-S200 and EXILIM ZOOM EX-Z800 cameras, marking the latest additions to the EXILIM family of digital cameras. Both cameras sport advanced features in a slim, compact and stylish body, including a Super Resolution Digital Zoom that extends the zoom range.

The new cameras make use of the EXILIM Engine 5.0 and super-resolution technology to take photos with exceptional clarity and resolution, while the Super Resolution Digital Zoom maintains image quality through 1.5 times the range of the optical zoom. Casio EX-S200

Casio has released the Exilim EX-S200 and EX-Z800 digital compacts. The 14MP image-stabilized cameras feature the company’s latest Exilim Engine 5.0 processor with ‘super-resolution’ context-sensitive image processing technology. Both offer 4x zoom lenses starting a 27mm equivalent focal length and use the super resolution technology to improve the effect of the 1.5x digital zoom. They also share 2.7″ LCDs and can record standard 720p HD videos. The identical specced cameras differ physically with the EX-S200 maintaining the S series’ slim body while the EX-Z800 features a slightly larger Zoom series design.

Casio Exilim EX-H15 Review

Casio has introduced the EX-H15, a 14-megapixel compact digicam which they labeled as a “Hi-Zoom” Exilim. The High Zoom moniker is due to it’s10x optical zoom lens, which will put you close to the action. Subjects are framed in a 3-in. TFT Super Clear, color LCD with 460,800 dots for crisp, clear viewing. For the not so steady hand it has dual image stabilization with CCD shift and a high-sensitivity anti-blur feature. Casio has added 42 Best shot modes including 3 Art filters and the Dynamic Photo feature that allows you to cut a subject out of one picture and place it into another.

This unit offers a very petite frame packed full of their usual goodies, including a 14-megapixel sensor, 4x wide view (26mm) optical zoom lens, 720p HD video option, a 2.7-inch LCD, YouTube video mode, new Premium Auto “smart” exposure program and more.

Casio’s new Exilim EX-FH100 features some groundbreaking features that will allow you to capture images and videos in ways that other digicams cannot. The FH100 features a 10-Megapixel back illuminated CMOS imaging sensor, 10x wide optical zoom lens, dedicated video record button, 720p HD movies, video frame rates of up to 1000fps, image capture of up to 40fps for 40 images at 9-megapixels, RAW capture and Sensor-Shift image stabilization, which just covers some of the major features. There are also a slew of Best Shot modes, including several that were specifically designed for high speed shooting.

Featuring 720p HD movie capture and frame rates ranging from 30fps to 1000fps, this is by far one of the most versatile Hybrid cameras that you are going to find on the market. Although the high-speed frame rates are not an option when shooting in HD, they are a fantastic tool for slowing down fast-moving objects. 1000fps can be very useful for capturing extremely fast moving objects or even for analysis of movement such as a golf swing. The compact Casio EXILIM EX-S5 is based around a 1/2.3″-type 10.1 effective megapixel CCD image sensor and an EXILIM-branded 4x optical zoom lens with a 36mm wide-angle. Unlike several of the models it is announced alongside, the Casio EX-S5 lacks the true mechanical image stabilization – likely in the interest of saving cost. A 2.7-inch widescreen LCD display with below-average 114,960 dot resolution offers

the EX-S5′s only option for framing and reviewing images, as there’s no optical viewfinder on this model. The Casio EX-S5 records 10.1 megapixel still images or movies at up to 848 x 480 pixel widescreen resolution on SD / MMC cards, and offers both USB (type unspecified) and NTSC / PAL video connectivity. Power comes from a proprietary NP-80 Lithium Ion battery.

Two slightly more unsual features on the Casio EXILIM S5 include the ability to choose the menu system color – either black, chocolate, cinnamon, rose, sky-blue or olive green – and to change the focusing frame. Focus frame choices include the traditional rectangular, as well as heart or butterfly shaped, and the focus indication can quirkily tie into this – for example, “breaking” the heart when focus can’t be achieved.

The Casio EX-S5 will ship in the USA from March 2009, with pricing of about $180. Body colors will include blue, black, gold, silver, pink and purple.

The 10-megapixel Casio Exilim EX-S5 offers a new body design, customizable focusing frames and wide-screen video recording, which makes high-quality photographic functionality simpler to use than ever before. A new, high-speed image processing engine even allows moving subjects to be cut and pasted onto still backgrounds or other images.

Newly-developed Exilim Engine 4.0
Representing a significant upgrade from the Exilim Engine 3.0, the Exilim Engine 4.0 is a powerful electronic package comprised of an ordinary CPU and a high-speed dedicated image processing CPU. It delivers outstanding color reproduction and a rich tonal range that guarantees superior visual expression. Noise reduction at high-sensitivity levels also helps to produce high-quality, beautiful images. Even better, despite the new image combination functionality and other functions that entail complex processing, energy consumption is about 30 percent lower than before, which means longer battery life. The new engine successfully combines the pursuit of radical new functionality with improvements to many conventional camera features.

Dynamic Photo function
Thanks to the high-speed image processing capability of the new engine, a moving subject can be cut out of a number of images that have been shot and combined with a different still shot that forms the background. A unique digital camera image where only the main subject in the photo is moving can be created using just the camera, with no editing on a computer.

Tracking AF
Using the image analysis technology in the new engine, the ability of the auto focus function to automatically follow a moving subject has been refined. In addition to improvements to the accuracy of auto focus tracking, when a subject leaves the frame the camera makes a record of it, and when the same subject once again enters the frame it is recognized by the camera, and auto focusing is resumed.

Makeup function
In addition to recognizing faces and adjusting focus and exposure accordingly, the S5 can make adjustments to smooth skin in images and soften facial shadows caused by sunlight, creating beautiful photographs of people’s faces. The photographer can choose from one of twelve levels of skin beauty using different strengths of image processing, and can shoot after viewing the results in the LCD monitor.
