When Canon brought the G10 to market a couple of years ago with 14.7 megapixels wedged onto a 1/1.7-inch sensor, criticism was immediate over less than stirring ISO noise performance. The G11 debuted with the same sized sensor but – surprise! – a reduced resolution of “only” 10 megapixels.

According to dpreview:
lthough barely a year separates the release of the two models, the Canon Powershot G12 was launched into a considerably more competitive market than its predecessor the G11. Despite this, Canon hasn’t felt the need to make a huge number of changes in the new model. The shape of the body is more or less identical but, most significantly, the G12 shares the same 10MP sensor as the G11, which sits nestled behind the same 28-140mm (equivalent) lens.

Those improvements that have been made, however, do add value, and make the G12 a more attractive camera than its predecessor. From the point of view of usability, the most important is the addition of an EOS-style control dial on the top of the camera. This was a feature of Canon’s Powershot G-series right up until 2004, and we’re extremely happy to see it come back. Not only does it make the G12 look and feel like a more serious camera, it also has the convenient side effect of making it easier to control manually.

According cnet:

The G series’ unremarkable performance hasn’t changed significantly in generations either, and the field in general still lags behind the LX5. It powers on and shoots in about 2.1 seconds. In bright light, shot lag runs 0.4 second, and in dim light that increases to 0.6 second, shaving about 0.1 second off the G11′s time. There’s a relatively large 2.2-second gap between sequential JPEGs–2.5 seconds for raw–and adding flash recycle increases that to a ho-hum 2.9 seconds. While its continuous-shooting rate bumps up to 2fps from the G11′s 1.1fps, that’s still slow enough that you really don’t want to count on it for burst shots. Especially if you’re used to shooting with a dSLR, the G12 doesn’t feel very fast. But part of that’s perception; it’s certainly zippy enough to catch animals a reasonable percent of the time. The articulated LCD remains big, bright, and useful, and in practice the optical viewfinder feels almost identical to the P7000′s.

Samsung came out with Samsung TL 500 targeting the photo enthusiasts who always demand for high features in their cameras. Samsung TL 500 is highly professional and smart. It is excellently built with high features to suit its quality.

Samsung TL 500 is the right option to make creative photographs as it contains superior control options. Samsung TL 500 can be purchased with $ 419.99. But it deserves much more than its cost.

Samsung TL 500 has a 10 mega pixels CCD sensor and a lens of 3x optical zoom with wide view angle. It also has JAW and JPEG image shooting options and VGA video recording. Further it has dual image stabilization. The display is awesome with 3.0 inch swivel display. It has a high ISO performance going up to ISO 1600. It has lots of exposure mode nearly eighteen for both beginners as well as experienced users. There are also ten photo style modes. Photos can be saved in SD or SDHC memory cards.

It has all types of image adjustments. It has a voice recording of 10 hours. It also has a good shutter speed. It has a good battery life and rather a class one camera.

Samsung TL 500 lacks the HD video capture option and it has a weak built in flash. You cannot charge the battery of the camera while it is used as it charges in the camera. Another thing that the Samsung TL 500 pack lacks is the A/V cable which most of the users feel a great downfall.

But rather Samsung TL 500 is a smart and posh model for a photographer and much more convenient for any use. The high features of Samsung TL 500 can take you beyond the traditional photography and make your images more than how you expect them to be.

Ricoh offers new compact superzoom CX4 that powers with 10 MP and can zoom up to 10.7x (28-300mme quiv). It has back=illuminated CMOS sensor 920k dot 3 inch LCD. It creates to reduce blur and some added featured are like subject-tracking AF , some shooting modes. The image is also enhanced with it stabilization.

August 19, 2010—TOKYO, Japan—Ricoh Co., Ltd. (helmed by president and CEO Shiro Kondo) today announced the release of the new CX4 compact digital camera. This new design offers high-power (10.7×), wide-angle 28–300 mm optical zoom and improved image-sensor-shift image stabilization in a workmanlike yet stylish package.

The new CX4’s evolved image-sensor-shift image stabilization reduces blur on average by the equivalent of about 3.7 EV—3.7 shutter-speed stops—for improved performance under dim indoor lighting and at high zoom ratios.

The camera also offers a new “subject-tracking AF” autofocus system that automatically tracks your subject, ensuring that photographs are in focus and correctly exposed whenever you choose to release the shutter. You’ll find this feature indispensable for moving subjects and close-ups.

In addition, Ricoh has further developed features designed to enhance the photographic experience, including a “night landscape multi-shot mode” that combines four exposures into a single photograph for reduced image noise, and a “creative shooting mode” that brings out the artist in everyone with soft focus, cross process, and toy camera effects. With portability enhanced by a newly-designed body featuring molded curves that make it easier to slip the camera into your pocket, the CX4 compact digital camera represents another advance in Ricoh’s philosophy of designing “A tool you will want to use every day.”

A490 and A495 is the outcome from PowerShot A480 models, you can save up to $20 for A495 compared to PowerShot A490 but it’s available in silver only. A495′s has 9-point Face AiAF autofocus system compared to A480 whic has a 5-point. It has neither a Face Self-Timer nor Canon’s two, new creative shooting modes even for those differences, both cameras creates a great photos experience for the budget price tags (though the A495

seemed to get negligibly better results in Auto mode). The lack of these two is that they aren’t remotely fast when it comes to shooting performance, shot-to-shot times are particularly long. But this is suitable for those who really want to buy fast pocket camera. The key aspects of this camera is it’s price and the overall specs. The price is about $109.99 and it has 10MP with 1/2.3-inch CCD. The Dimensions (WHD)o is 3.7×2.4×1.2 inches. It also completes with Bundled software like ZoomBrowser EX 6.5/PhotoStitch 3.1 (Windows); ImageBrowser 6.5/PhotoStitch 3.2 (Mac). It uses AA-size alkaline (2), 150 shots for battery type. It can zoom up to 3.3x , the aperture is f3-5.8. The highest resolution size of the picture can be 3,648×2,736 pixels.

The A490 is chubby, but still reasonably compact. It’s not very wide or tall, but is more than an inch thick, so though it’ll fit in a pants pocket, it might be a tight squeeze. From the front, the camera looks reasonably stylish with nice rounded corners. Unlike the A480, the buttons don’t feel cheap and are clearly marked in white on black. In fact, the overall build seems improved. Plus, Canon kept the controls straightforward and simple, and the menu systems are likewise uncomplicated.
On top are the power and shutter-release buttons, with the remaining controls on back to the right of the LCD. At the top is a zoom rocker, below which are a button for playback, a four-way control pad with select button, and the shooting mode and Menu buttons. The Menu button pulls up two tabs of general settings whereas the select button (labeled Func. Set) opens shooting mode-specific options. Overall, it’s easy to control and should be simple enough for beginners out of the box.

As DSLRs have become less expensive, the number of people keen to buy high-end, manually controllable compact cameras has fallen away – so long as camera size isn’t an issue, the benefits of a larger sensor are hard to resist. However, because size is a concern for some people, the sector didn’t die-off entirely and, in July 2008, Panasonic introduced the DMC-LX3, finally giving an alternative to Canon’s well-respected G-series.

Now Samsung, another vast electronics specialist wanting to show off its photographic credentials has introduced the TL500 (EX1 outside North America), a pretty little thing that follows the LX3 recipe of a fast, wide (though reach-limited) zoom lens in a fairly compact metal body. The Samsung offers an impressive F1.8-2.4 zoom lens that covers a range from the very wideangle 24mm equivalent out to 72mm equiv. making it a fraction faster than the LX3 at the wide end and a touch longer at the other.

The other standout feature of the TL500 is undoubtedly its rear screen – not only does it have a fully articulated screen, it also has the excellent VGA-equivalent OLED screen we first saw on the NX10. In principle OLED screens can be more efficient and offer greater contrast than LCD panels because they can selectively light just the pixels that need to be illuminated. They also promise greater viewing angles.

The 10-megapixel Casio Exilim EX-S5 offers a new body design, customizable focusing frames and wide-screen video recording, which makes high-quality photographic functionality simpler to use than ever before. A new, high-speed image processing engine even allows moving subjects to be cut and pasted onto still backgrounds or other images.

Newly-developed Exilim Engine 4.0
Representing a significant upgrade from the Exilim Engine 3.0, the Exilim Engine 4.0 is a powerful electronic package comprised of an ordinary CPU and a high-speed dedicated image processing CPU. It delivers outstanding color reproduction and a rich tonal range that guarantees superior visual expression. Noise reduction at high-sensitivity levels also helps to produce high-quality, beautiful images. Even better, despite the new image combination functionality and other functions that entail complex processing, energy consumption is about 30 percent lower than before, which means longer battery life. The new engine successfully combines the pursuit of radical new functionality with improvements to many conventional camera features.

Dynamic Photo function
Thanks to the high-speed image processing capability of the new engine, a moving subject can be cut out of a number of images that have been shot and combined with a different still shot that forms the background. A unique digital camera image where only the main subject in the photo is moving can be created using just the camera, with no editing on a computer.

Tracking AF
Using the image analysis technology in the new engine, the ability of the auto focus function to automatically follow a moving subject has been refined. In addition to improvements to the accuracy of auto focus tracking, when a subject leaves the frame the camera makes a record of it, and when the same subject once again enters the frame it is recognized by the camera, and auto focusing is resumed.

Makeup function
In addition to recognizing faces and adjusting focus and exposure accordingly, the S5 can make adjustments to smooth skin in images and soften facial shadows caused by sunlight, creating beautiful photographs of people’s faces. The photographer can choose from one of twelve levels of skin beauty using different strengths of image processing, and can shoot after viewing the results in the LCD monitor.

Product Features:

10-megapixel resolution

3x optical zoom; 2.7-inch widescreen LCD

State-of-the-art Exilim Engine 4.0; Dynamic Photo function

HD Movie function

Capture images to SD/SDHC memory cards

Fujifilm’s 10-megapixel Finepix A150 digital camera features a 3.0x optical zoom lens that was developed specifically for the A-series by Fujinon. The A150 also offers Picture Stabilization that chooses the correct light sensitivity and compatible shutter speed, producing the highest quality digital pictures without blur and noise.

Using the 3-inch LCD screen, the A150 also utilizes Fujifilm’s acclaimed Face Detection Technology that identifies and prioritizes up to 6 faces in a framed scene and then adjusts the focus and exposure accordingly to ensure the sharpness and clarity of human subjects in the picture, regardless of background. After the shot is captured, the A150 instantly checks each detected face for red eye, and if found, corrects it automatically in the camera, avoiding the process of editing later.
